Sterling Silver Toe Ring
A sterling silver toe ring is a distinctive accent for
women’s feet. Even some men find them to be an attractive addition.
Since pure silver is too malleable and easily scratched so jewelers
figured out how to add small amounts of stabilizing elements such as
copper.
A sterling silver toe ring contains at least 92.5% pure silver and added
alloys for strength and longevity. The only problem with adding an element
like copper is that it opens up the silver to tarnish. Protect rings
from products and chemicals and never polish using toothpaste –
the grit within leaves microscopic scratches on the silver.
A sterling silver toe ring definitely should not come in contact with
chemicals, such as chlorine. Even regular shower soap and hair products
can damage the surface. A plating of rhodium is sometimes applied to
the silver to add extra protection.
